Last year YuKonstruct finished 3rd out of 49 makerspaces from around the world, and we missed winning one of the large prizes by only 2 instructables! (summary of last year)
At the social, celebrating the end of our participation in the contest last year, I remember discussing with @Colin, @seamusv and @Thomas that our downfall was a lack of strategy.
The rules have changed slightly this year, but I think the key to success will still be a strong plan on how we are going to approach the contest.
There are 3 categories for big prizes this time around:
- Most Featured Instructables (laser cutter, CNC & more worth $22,755.00 USD)
- Most Instructables Total (3D printer & CNC machine worth $5,824.00 USD)
- First 4 teams to 100 Featured Instructables (3D printer & other goodies worth 2,924.00 USD)
Had it been a category last year, we definitely would have won the race to 100. I think that aiming to be one of the first 4 teams to publish 100 featured instructables is our best bet for a prize (and would help put us in the running for the other big prizes) but it means we will have to hit the ground running when the contest starts on June 1.
If you'd like to be one of the 20 YuKonstruct team members please let me know by sending me a direct message on the forum or in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
100 instructables is only 5 each if we have 20 volunteers signed up from the start!
